How It Works
We use a state-of-the-art transcription workflow system that operates from the cloud, and therefore keeps all your files safe. You can upload your files at your leisure, and they will be automatically allocated among our typist pool depending on your specifications; once complete your files automatically flow through a QC procedure and become available to download. This not only cuts down on the time and bureaucracy associated with shuffling files around, but it almost eliminates errors.
Audio Transcription Formatting
We transcribe based on a five point system, where transcription level five is absolute verbatim (suitable for legal and medical work) through to transcription level one, which is a stylised summary. The default is transcription level 4, which is almost verbatim but with misspeaks and stutters cleaned up to present a fluent text.
Our charging system is based solely on how long your audio files are – that way there are no misunderstandings about formatting or editing, which can often be the case when you are quoted on the basis of each line typed.
We are happy to work to whatever style and formatting options you prefer. Our default service provides you with an MS Word document in standard Calibri font, left aligned, with line spacing set to 1.5.
– Timestamping: By default we automatically mark and timestamp sections of the transcription where the audio is unclear or ambiguous. Other variations of time stamping are available on request; we are regularly asked to timestamp areas where people laugh for example.
– Character naming: By default we identify all participants in the audio individually. If there are more than five participants then additional charges may apply.
– Dictionaries: We provide our transcripts in Microsoft Word format. We can provide your transcript in American English or British English as you require.
